Ayrshire Roadshow
On Monday 30th November the Scottish Pharmacy Board
held their Ayrshire roadshow - Scottish Pharmacy First - Your
New Professional Leadership Body, at the Park Hotel in
Kilmarnock. The Chairman of the Board, Sandra Melville started the
evening with a presentation on what the Board has been doing for
members in the past year. Aileen Bryson, Principal Policy Advisor
for Scotland then spoke about the commitments and the progress that
has been made to date before Charles Tait, Board member, introduced
the concept of Local Practice Forums (LPFs) and their progress in
Scotland.
Members were able to meet with the new LPF Facilitator for
Scotland, Natalie Ryce, whose role is to help facilitate the
establishment and running of LPFs and they were also given the
opportunity to express their views and to ask questions.
Key topics that made up much of the discussion included the
establishment of the new professional body and its role in advising
members on legal issues; the new Pharmacy Professional Magazine;
stress in the workplace and drug quotas. Members also discussed the
various forms that an LPF can take and the services and benefits
that can be delivered through this medium.
If you could not attend the roadshow please do look on the
branches page . If you would like more details on this or would
like to discuss anything in relation to LPFs please do not hesitate
to contact Natalie at natalie.ryce@rpsgb.org
